Peregrine Mission One

Astrobotic (now Voyager Lunar Systems) · Peregrine · failed to land

Launch: 2024-01-08. Landing: not in public sources.

A propulsion failure after launch ruled out a landing. Peregrine re-entered over the South Pacific on 18 Jan 2024. Counts differ: NASA's press kit gives 5 NASA payloads and 15 from other customers; Astrobotic said 20 payloads in 2024 and 21 in 2026; Wikipedia lists 16 non-NASA items. NASA's press kit lists NDL with NASA's technology but says it is not a NASA CLPS payload, so it is a lander system here (this settles the earlier traceback's open NDL question). Left out as mementos (per Wikipedia): Bitcoin Magazine Genesis Plate, DHL MoonBox, Lunar Codex, Footsteps on the Moon, Celestis Luna 02, BitMEX Lunar Bitcoin, Astroscale's Lunar Dream Capsule, Elysium Space memorial, Puli's Memory of Mankind on the Moon, CMU's MoonArk, Arch Mission Foundation libraries, Writers on the Moon.
