Architecture Workshops: NASA web page

Page: https://www.nasa.gov/moontomarsarchitecture-architectureworkshops/. No date on the page; its newest files were uploaded in March 2026 (/2026/03/). Fetched 2026-10-01T07:22:06Z. File: sources/text/pages/moontomarsarchitecture-architectureworkshops.md.

Summary. The record of NASA's architecture workshops and webinars for outside partners, with links to the charts, posters and animations from each. "Each fall, NASA holds its annual Architecture Concept Review (ACR) … After the ACR, NASA publishes the latest version of the architecture, plus supplementary materials like white papers … NASA also hosts workshops to gather feedback from industry, academic, and international partners" (top of page). The linked charts and posters for February 2024 to 2026 are among the wiki's sources (tier 3 of the agreed source plan); the 2023 files, the webinar recording and the animations are not. Each deck gets its own source page; the first is the 2026 industry and academia deck. What the wiki takes from this page is the dates and what was briefed. The cycle is on Architecture definition process.

The events

Heading on the page Where and when, as printed What is linked
"2026 | Moon to Mars Architecture Workshops – Presentations" industry and academia: "Washington, DC, on January 21 and 22 at the National Academy of Sciences"; international partners: "co-hosted Rome on February 24 and 25" "Selected charts" from each (two PDFs)
"2026 | … – International Partner Posters" the Rome workshop, "co-hosted by the Italian Space Agency in Rome, Italy" posters from eight agencies, "Hosted here with partner permission": Australian Space Agency, CNES (France), ESA, GISTDA (Thailand), Italian Space Agency, Korea AeroSpace Administration, Luxembourg Space Agency, UK Space Agency
"February 2025 | … for International Partners" no place given 12 PDFs: architecture updates, "Architecture 101", panels, Foundational Exploration gaps, Moon to Mars Program Office updates, international partnerships, six white paper briefings
"February 2025 | … for Industry and Academia" no place given 11 PDFs: the same set without the EDL briefing, and with "Paths to Partnership" (mission directorates and the Office of Procurement) in place of international partnerships
"February 2024 | Moon to Mars Architecture Workshops" no place given 15 PDFs (overview, program office, mission directorate panel, breakouts on element initiation, Foundational Exploration, technology and infrastructure, Mars science and architecture; eight 2023 white paper briefings) and eight animations
"June 2023 | Moon to Mars Architecture Workshops" no place given 12 PDFs (process overview, panel, breakouts on ACR products, Human Lunar Return, science objectives, technology infrastructure; six 2022 white paper presentations) and seven animations
"May 2023 | Moon to Mars Architecture Webinar for U.S. Industry and Academia" "a one-hour webinar" briefing charts and a recording

Photo captions on other pages of the site add dates: an industry and academia workshop on "Feb. 22" with "140 attendees representing 110 industry and academic organizations" (main page), one on "Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md." (same), and an international one on "Feb. 20" with "50 attendees representing 18 countries" (International Engagement page). The industry page dates the Feb. 22 workshop to 2024 ("Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at the National Academy of Sciences"; Industry Engagement page).

Items worth noting

  • Registration for 2026. "Interested individuals can request to register for the 2026 Moon to Mars Architecture workshops" through a NASA form (top of page). The 2026 workshops listed are already past (January and February 2026).
  • Foundational Exploration gaps were briefed to both audiences in 2025: "Highlights technology and capability gaps for the Foundational Exploration segment" ("Foundational Exploration Gaps").
  • A 2025 briefing on lunar logistics and mobility. The industry and academia set has "White Paper Briefing: Lunar Mobility and Logistics", file 2025-ia-workshop-wp-lunar-logistics-and-mobility.pdf; the international set has "White Paper Briefing: Logistics, Mobility, and Cargo", file iparch10-wp-logistics-mobility-cargo.pdf. Both: "Briefing about key considerations and needs for lunar cargo, mobility, and logistics solutions to enable exploration." The other briefings in the February 2025 sets carry the subjects of 2024 papers (Mars surface power, crew complement, EDL, technology gaps). This bears on the 2025 Update's unidentified 2024 paper "Lunar Logistics and Mobility" (open question 30); the page doesn't say which paper the briefing covers.
  • "Exploration Enables Science" is the 2025 briefing title for a paper on "the ways in which crewed exploration can enable NASA's mission of science and discovery" (files …wp-human-exploration.pdf, …wp-exploration-enables-science.pdf). No white paper has that title; the wiki doesn't match it to one.
  • Briefings on 2023 papers (February 2024): human health and performance, "Mars Decisions" ("the 2023 Architecture Concept Review white paper on key Mars architecture decisions"; compare open question 54), "Mars Challenges", space station lessons, lunar logistics, in-situ analysis against sample return ("In-Site" in the heading), surface EVA drivers, lunar site selection.
  • Presentations of 2022 papers (June 2023): "Systems Analysis of Architectural Drivers", "Mars-Forward Capabilities to be Tested at the Moon", "Why Artemis Will Focus on the Lunar South Pole Region", "Why NRHO: The Artemis Orbit", "Gateway: The Cislunar Springboard …", "Mars Transportation".
  • Mars mission animations (February 2024): "Example 850-day and 980-day Earth-Mars-Earth trajectories for 2039 mission opportunity"; aborts on "mission day 75" (ballistic) and "mission day 30" (hybrid) "during 850-day rountrip mission" (as printed). The file name says 982-day. These are examples, not architecture decisions.
  • Slips, as printed: the Korea AeroSpace Administration poster carries a generic description ("Explore hands-on activities, interactive, lesson plans …") instead of the poster line; "co-hosted Rome"; "rountrip"; "peformance" and "parterships" in file names.
