Summary. This is the main public source for phase dates and phase names:
- Phase One (Now–2029): "Gain Reliable Access, Experiment, and Learn"
- Phase Two (2029–2032): "Build and Expand"
- Phase Three (2032–Beyond): "Live and Work on the Moon"
It lists eight Phase One missions and assets and one Phase Two asset (the JAXA pressurized rover). Phase Three has none yet. Each phase says "More to come: Additional missions, assets, and activities will be added as plans for this phase continue to develop."

- Phase One ("Phase One"): "focuses on gaining reliable access to the lunar surface and building a deeper understanding of the environment". NASA will "identify promising locations for future infrastructure, improve mission capabilities, and reduce risk before astronauts arrive".

Phase Two ("Phase Two"): "Early power systems, cargo transportation, logistics, and communications capabilities". NASA will establish "infrastructure across multiple locations".
- Phase Two asset: the pressurized rover supplied by JAXA. It supports "extended exploration missions lasting up to 28 days with up to 14 days between cargo resupplies".
- Phase Three ("Phase Three"): "assembling a permanent lunar outpost where astronauts can live and work for extended periods".
