Summary. NASA's biography of the Moon Base Chief Architect, at Johnson. Quotations are from the staff page unless marked. She "serves as the agency expert in human exploration architectures, guiding technical aspects of agency decisions about exploration element–level performance and functionality, which will have decades-long implications for agency goals and international and commercial partnerships".

Key points

  • A link between the architecture and the Moon Base. "Prior to her current role, Merancy served as deputy associate administrator for NASA's Strategy and Architecture Office." In NASA's 2024 executive overview, that office "leads the definition, documentation, and disposition of the architecture" (2024 executive overview, PDF p. 20; Architecture definition process). The staff page says nothing about how the ADD and the Moon Base relate.
  • Earlier: chief of the Exploration Mission Planning Division at Johnson; lead of the Mission Analysis and Integrated Assessments team; Orion mission planning.
